Aasher Tips Richmond Hill

We all have a pretty good understanding when it comes to the basics of our appliances. They come with manuals on how to use them to your benefit, or how to alter their temperature or movement, but rarely do we look into the detailed parts of the manual. You might be surprised to find out that there is some crucial information in there that can easily be skimmed over. If this information is ignored enough, it can lead to appliance issues which will eventually lead to you needing an appliance repair. We here at Alpha Appliance Services Inc. would like to explain some of the more uncommon washing machine tips you may not have heard of so you know everything there is to know about your washer.

1. Use the Advised Detergent for Your Machine

Did you know that more often than not, your washing machine manual will state that a certain detergent should be used? Not only will it state what detergent you should use, but will also talk about how much should be used and exactly how to use it for each specific type of wash. Make sure to look into this, as you do not want to be doing this step improperly. In addition, look out for a machine with two trays – one for fabric softener and the other for detergent. Make sure you are using the right one!

2. Ensure the Door Gasket Does Not Get Wet

When the seal on a washing machine door stays wet for a long amount of time, it can collect dirt, bacteria and mold in worst case scenarios. In some other instances, the moisture can end up deteriorating the seal making it susceptible to leaks and other issues. For good practice, once you are finished washing your clothes, wipe down the door gasket so that it is nice and dry.

3. Open The Door/Clean Regularly

More often than not, mold and mildew is the most serious thing you need to be looking out for when it comes to washing machines. This is because of the exponential amount of moisture they hold and trap inside. To avoid the chances of mold, leave your washing machine door open when not in use. This is a great way to air out the machine and ensure no water stays trapped inside. In addition, be sure to regularly clean out your machine. Even with the tips we have provided to avoid mold and mildew, it is easy for these spores to get stuck in the unseen corners and edges of your machine. When you make sure to clean the inside of your machine periodically, you significantly reduce the risk of this happening.
